1958 Steib S500 Sidecar

July 2017

A customer brought in a Steib sidecar with significant rust damage and numerous dents. I was able to strip and remove the delicate aluminum trim. It was then sent to be acid-dipped, before we fabricated the custom steel to be welded in place of the rusted-out parts. It took many hours of hand-shaping with leather hammers to pound out dents, returning the piece close to its original shape, while minimizing any added filler.
